WKRG News 5’s first “Player of the Week” award for the first week of the 2016 high school football season goes to Kadarius Toney from Blount High School. He helped his team beat Vigor High School at Prichard Stadium.
Toney is a standout athlete and quarterback for the Blount Leopards. He is starting his senior season and is being watched by scouts across the country. He made Scout Recruiting’s 300 List and Scout listed him as the No. 2 athlete in Alabama.
Many colleges wanted Toney, but he verbally committed to the University of Florida back in May.
“He lives for that big moment. The bigger the game, the bigger he’s going to play,” says Blount Head Coach Lev Holly.
Congratulations Kadarius Toney!
