The University of South Alabama geared up early Monday to head to first Hammond, and then Lafayette, Louisiana.
USA first organized the supply drive to help flood-ravaged Louisiana just one week ago and in just 6 days, they received five truckloads worth of donations.
Athletic Director Joel Erdmann said the original goal was just to fill the big rig the team takes to football games — and then donations kept pouring in.
USA’s convoy first arrived at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond where they unloaded two truck loads.
Following that visit, they headed further west to University of Louisiana Lafayette, USA’s Sunbelt conference rival.
The Ragin Cajuns greeted the Jags like family instead of foes as they unloaded the remaining three truck loads of supplies together.
