Whether you’re wearing a tuxedo or a ball gown… or a Catwoman suit, you can help local organizations in the Pensacola area while having a blast.  Some people from the Pensacola Little Theatre and Pensacon shared more about the event, and what they have in store.

It looks like it’s just a space at the entry of the theatre, but in a week, Kat Bishop hopes this place will transform.

Kat Bishop, Pensacon Director of Marketing & Communications, walked through the building, pointing to the large brick walls, and places she plans on decorating.

“We’re going to have a gigantic screen where people can take pictures of themselves and they can hashtag “#DressUpOrDressUp” and it will appear up there on the screen so they can actually see pictures of themselves in real time, as well as see some of the things that are going to be coming up for bid… as well as some of the people who have contributed like sponsors and stuff,” Bishop said.

That’s not all they have planned!  Custom decorations and lighting will grace the walls of a building with rich history.

“The theatre’s been around for 80 years, this building even longer than that,” Tyler Kercher, Pensacola Little Theatre’s Executive Director said.  “But Pensacon’s one of those up and coming traditions that’s already established itself in our city, we’re hoping to see it here for a long time.”

There’s also live entertainment planned for the courtroom part of the theatre, which still sports its original wood paneling.

“We will be having live entertainment at the costume ball provided by Pure Aerial Performances, located here in downtown Pensacola,” Bishop said.  “That’s gonna be something you don’t wanna miss.”

Of course, they’ve got a big surprise to announce about the Foo Foo Festival!

“We’ll be announcing our celebrity guest at the Pensacon Dress Up or Dress Up Ball, so it’ll be really exciting, you won’t wanna miss it,” said Kercher.

All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Pensacola Little Theatre, as well as Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of the Emerald Coast.

If you’d like to grab some tickets, they’re $20 before the event on Aug. 26.  The easiest way to purchase tickets is on the Pensacola Little Theatre’s website.
