PENSACOLA, FL- About 33,000 students in Escambia County, Florida, will be issued Dell Chromebooks.
The Chromebook roll out starts next week for students in grades 3-12. So far, the system has spent about 15 million dollars on the laptop program over the past three years.
School administrators say the Chromebooks are economical, durable and secure. The devices are firewall protected and monitored.
Each device cost about $300. Parents don’t have to pay a dime.
