A Street In Crichton Is Formally Renamed In Honor Of A Nearby Church

City Councilman Fred Richardson held a ceremony at the corner of Bay Shore Avenue and Old Shell Road.
The section of Bay Shore between Springhill Avenue and Old Shell in Crichton will now be known as New Shiloh Avenue.
Richardson says the church is responsible for bringing businesses to the area.

“If Shiloh had not been here none of this wouldn’t have happened,” Richardson said. “We don’t want anybody in the city guessing where New Shiloh is. Springhill Avenue is Highway 98 is a major thoroughfare. When they ride down Springhill Avenue they are going to see the sign saying New Shiloh Baptist Church.”

Tonight on News 5 at 5 and 6, News 5’s Jacqueline Quynh will uncover the new additions and improvements being added to Crichton.
