Lawyer: Clinton already answered every question on email use

WASHINGTON (AP) – Hillary Clinton’s lawyer told a federal judge the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee has already answered enough questions about her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state.

David Kendall appeared Monday at a hearing on whether the conservative legal group Judicial Watch should be granted its request to interview Clinton under oath as part of its long-running lawsuit.

Kendall told U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan that Clinton has previously testified before Congress and told the FBI that the private email setup she used while serving as the nation’s top diplomat was motivated by convenience, not any attempt to thwart potential public-records requests. Kendall said Clinton’s answers aren’t going to change and argued that further questioning would be futile.
