Bill Clinton Coming to Baldwin County on Wednesday

Former President Bill Clinton is coming to south Alabama on Wednesday for a fundraiser in support of his wife’s presidential campaign.

Baldwin County sources tell News 5’s Pat Peterson that Clinton is attending a friend’s democratic fundraiser in Daphne on Wednesday night.  The family hosting the event, Robert and Pat Eddington, are steadfast Clinton supporters, dating back to President Clinton’s election and reelection in the 1990’s.

Sources say Clinton will fly into Mobile Regional Airport or Brookley Air Field around 4:00pm on Wednesday.  Clinton will then travel to Daphne for the fundraiser, stay for a few hours, and fly out later Wednesday night.

Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee for President of the United States, is not expected to attend. Hillary is scheduled to be in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

This isn’t the first time President Clinton is visiting Baldwin County, nor is it the first time he’s flying in to see this particular family.  Clinton visited the Eddington’s back in 2008, also for a fundraiser.  In the 2008 visit, Clinton was escorted in a motorcade with a large police presence around the event and several blocked-off intersections.

News 5 will have coverage of Clinton’s visit to Baldwin County on Wednesday, plus a preview tonight.
