Mobile Swimmer Makes Olympic Final

A Mobile swimmer has made finals of the U.S. Olympic trials.

Will Glass had the seventh best time in Friday night’s 100 meter butterfly semi-finals. 16 swimmers participated in the semifinals, in two heats. Glass finished fourth in his heat, and 7th overall.

He will compete in the finals Saturday night. Among those he will be competing against, Olympic legend Michael Phelps and University of Texas roommate Jack Conger. Phelps had the 6th best time in the semi’s. The top two swimmers tomorrow will go the Rio Olympic Games in August.

The trials are taking place in Omaha, Nebraska.

Earlier this week, Glass finished with the 19 best time in the 200 meter butterfly preliminaries, just missing the semifinals.

Glass swam for the City of Mobile Swim Club and for both St. Paul’s and McGill-Toolen’s high school teams.
