Mark Tenhundfeld, a social studies teacher from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, has been chosen to attend C-SPAN Classroom’s 2016 Educators’ Conference in Washington, DC. Only 30 educators from across the country are picked to attend the conference.
Tenhundfeld will attend the conference in July. Teachers learn about C-SPAN programs and are able to return to their schools with teaching material they can implement in their classrooms.
Teachers were selected by a panel of C-SPAN representatives based on their devotion to giving their students new avenues for learning. They were also evaluated on how well they shared their professional development experience within in an academic setting.
Craig McAndrew is the C-SPAN Manager of Education Relations. He says the conference gives teachers the chance to learn new creative strategies to integrate C-SPAN programming into classroom activities. “Our goal is to connect students with public affairs content that cultivates a better understanding of how our federal government works,” said McAndrew.
