GULF SHORES, AL- When police get reports of a man threatening someone with a gun, officers take the call pretty seriously.
That call happened in Gulf Shores Wednesday night. Officers were dispatched to a home on West 3rd Avenue after getting reports of a man with a gun in the front yard.
“It wasn’t necessarily an active shooter, but they still responded and prepared for it to become an active shooter in a neighborhood,” says Sgt. Jason Woodruff with the Gulf Shores Police Dept. “They’re trained to deal with the threat, ultimately, their goal is to find the threat, move to it and eliminate it.”
Steven Davenport was not armed with police approached him, but officers recovered three guns, including a shotgun from the scene.
Davenport was charged with Domestic Violence 3rd. Police say Davenport had been arguing with his grandparents and threatened to hurt them.
