The Alabama Department of Public Health has lifted a swimming advisory for May Day Park less than a week after it was put into place.

The original warning was issued over poor water quality and the presence of bacteria in the water.

When officials tested the water this week, the level of bacteria was below the threshold set by the Environmental Protection Agency.

This means the water of Mobile Bay at May Day Park are clean and ready for swimmers.
