The DEA and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office are sponsoring a prescription drug take-back program today. It’s nation-wide event where people all over the United States can drop-off their unused narcotics.
Walgreens, CVS, and Costco served as the drop-off locations in Mobile. The event was held between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The idea is to get the unused drugs out of medicine cabinets and keep them out of the hands of children.
Last year, over 400 pounds of narcotics were taken off the streets of Mobile.
