A Fundraiser was held on behalf of the undercover officer shot April 1 in Grand Bay. He was working undercover at the time and his name has not been officially released by police for that reason.
The fundraiser was held at the Touchdown Tavern in Tillman’s Corner today from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
There were hot dogs, hamburgers, raffle tickets and an auction held to raise money for the officer and his family.
About 50 people were there when our cameras were there, but officials estimated there would be around 150 before the night was over.
One organizer, known only as “Dr. Bob” describes the bond and support found within the police force.
“And nobody wants to see that badge cloaked in a black stripe but it is a thin blue line, it’s a strong blue line and they come together regardless of their differences, regardless of where they come from originally, they are a band of brothers,” says Bob.
