Roy Moore Defends His Actions on Same Sex Marriages

Alabama’s chief justice, who ordered probate judges not to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, is defending his actions.

Roy Moore contends The Judicial Ethics Panel should dismiss complaints against him saying he never told anyone to disobey a federal court order…he just pointed out the Alabama order had not been lifted. Moore, held a news conference in Montgomery Wednesday, making comments some in the gay community find offensive.MOORE2

“I’m saying clearly that transgender, transsexualism in 2013, according to the DSM manual..of The American Psychiatric Association classified transsexualism as a mental disorder. If you want to dispute can go to the DSM and look it up.MOORE3

Mobile Attorney, Christine Hernandez said Moore may have gone on the offensive…. because he anticipates indictments against him.

“I don’t think his beliefs are gonna change but it’s not a matter of what he believes it’s a matter of what the law is.MOORE4

Hernandez said indictments could lead to Moore being removed from office, an action she thinks would be appropriate.
