Locals Gearing Up for Talladega Weekend

Local racer Thomas Praytor at his shop in Mobile preparing for Friday's ARCA race at Talladega.

Talladega Superspeedway is honoring Fairhope’s Grant Enfinger. The track announced Enfinger will be added to the Wall of Fame on Thursday at an unveiling ceremony at the track’s museum.

Enfinger was the ARCA Racing national champion last year. The Wall of Fame holds images of every ARCA national champion since the series inception in 1953.

ARCA cars will be on the track at Talladega on Friday. However, Enfinger won’t be racing, he’s racing in the NASCAR truck series now, but he will be a crew chief for Brett Holmes.

Mobile’s Thomas Praytor will be behind the wheel of his #9 DK-LOK Max Force Ford.

Praytor was putting the finishing touch on his car yesterday, he has a new engine and may have a shot at winning this Friday’s race.

Friday’s race will be his 5th ARCA race at Talladega, he was very fast earlier this year at Daytona topping 191 miles per hour in traffic.

The General Tire 200 at Talladega will be Friday, April 29th. The race starts at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
