City of Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced today that his administration will implement a pay raise for all City of Mobile employees.
The 2.5-percent raise will go into effect on Friday, April 22nd. The raise is for a cost-of-living adjustment.
“We need to continuously provide the employees the tools, resources and training needed to deliver exceptional results to the citizens in a customer service-friendly way,” said Mayor Stimpson in a press release.
This is the third pay raise for city employees in the last two years.
According to the Mayor’s administration, the raises are part of an ongoing effort to invest in employees, which would improve the City by ensuring financial stewardship and improving basic internal processes.
“This is a step in the right direction, but we’re still not where we should be,” said Mayor Stimpson. “We must address the pay disparities that exist among City employees. An investment in our employees is an investment that will benefit all of our citizens.”
