ROBERTSDALE, AL- The owner of a Hispanic convenience store in Robertsdale was robbed at knife-point.
The robbery happened Sunday at La Azteca near Highway 59. A security camera inside the store captured the crime and the terror on the store owner’s face when one of the robbers pulled a knife on her.
The man and her younger sister, a 15-year old, were tracked to a mobile home near Foley and arrested. 20-year old Christian Alfredo Zelaya was charged with robbery 1st. Zelaya’s younger sister was transported to juvenile detention.
The stolen money, about $800, was recovered and will be returned to the store owner.
Police believe the siblings are possibly in the country illegally. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will be notified.
