Jamie Gilt, a pro-gun activist who frequently posts to social media displaying various weapons, was shot by her 4-year-old son while driving according to The Florida Times.
Gilt was driving in Putnam County Florida on Tuesday with her young son in the back seat when she was shot in the back. Police saw her behaving “frantically” and discovered her shot and her son crying.
The boy was not strapped in his booster seat when police found them; a .45 caliber gun was in the floor of the back seat.
The Times discovered social media posts that indicated she had taught her son how to shoot.
Gilt is in stable condition and her son is with family.
In 2015, there were 52 toddler-related shootings.
