The first U.S. made Airbus jet aircraft rolled out of the paint hangar on Thursday. U.S. based airline Jet Blue will take delivery of the Airbus A-321, the first aircraft the manufacturer assembled on U.S. soil sometime this spring.
Now that aircraft will begin a testing phase where all of its system will be carefully evaluated both on the ground and in the air. Airbus officials say there is no firm timeline for when the aircraft will make its first flight, since much of that depends of how ground testing goes.
There are currently 7 other A-321’s in various stages of the assembly process. Airbus currently employs about 300 people at it’s Mobile final assembly line.
