The two candidates found themselves starting their Saturday morning at the same place. Jerry Carl and Margie Wilcox both had breakfast at the Community Center in Grand Bay. It’s been a divisive campaign. Both candidates seem to be running on the record of Jerry Carl.
“What have I done wrong, what have I done right?”, asked Carl rhetorically. “Paved 50 miles of roads, six new bridges and helped the school system.” Wilcox and Carl both had a busy day of campaigning ahead of them.
“The last couple of weeks the response has been incredible from voters, I think the messages are very well received,” said State Representative Margie Wilcox. The candidates differ even on how they’ll spend their campaign cash. Carl still has more than $48,000 in his coffers while Wilcox is down to her last $10,000 as of Friday’s filing. Wilcox said she planned to spend it all while Carl said he’s only spending what he needs.
