STORM DAMAGE REPORTS: Tornado Confirmed in Century Florida

Three minor injuries have been reported so far in Century, Florida.
Northview high school has been opened as a shelter.
Authorities are asking everyone to stay put. Power lines are down and power is out.
County administrator says about 10 to 20 homes have sustained damage.

In Flomaton, Alabama power crews are working on downed power lines near Fannie road.
A handful of homes are damaged, two are destroyed but everyone has been accounted for.

We’re getting a look at the damage in Century, Florida. These pictures were taken around 6:30 Monday night. Highway 29 remains closed. Thousands are still without power.

Preliminary searches are ongoing in the area of Century. Numbers are preliminary and will change as we receive more information. EMS TRANSPORT: The 6800 block of Jefferson Avenue, reported entrapment, one patient transported to Sacred Heart Hospital as a trauma alert. Several homes have major damage.

BREAKING NEWS: The National Weather Service out of Mobile confirms a tornado touched down in Century, Florida, which is near the Alabama  / Florida line. Escambia County Florida officials say many homes are damaged. County officials say they have reports of people trapped, but no confirmation at this point. The storm passed through right before 4:40 p.m. on Monday. Some viewers captured photos and video of what appears to be the tornado touching down.
