Deputies in Washington County and police officers in McIntosh are on the lookout for a man accused in a shooting death. Police are looking for 44-year-old Joseph McLane Weaver. Police say 19-year-old Tyrell Kimbrough was killed after his car was forced off a road in McIntosh Thursday night.
“The victim possibly feared for his life, he got out with a shotgun. Fired up in the air. And when he fired up in the air his shotgun hung up. Then the suspect got out and he also had a shotgun and he fired back at the victim. Actually hitting him numerous times with shotgun pellets,” said Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer. The sheriff believes this shooting stems from a long-standing family feud.
Police say both Weaver and Kimbrough were armed with shotguns. Weaver’s wife, Crystal Gale Weaver, was arrested Friday night for helping Weaver avoid police.
