The Florida House of Representatives today passed a bill to establish regulations for fracking in the state.
Fracking is the process in which chemicals are pumped into the ground under high pressure to free up oil and gas deposits in the earth.
Opponents of fracking say it also pollutes aquifers.
The House voted 73-45 for a bill directing the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to write rules regulating fracking.
The bill must still be passed by the Florida Senate and be signed by the Governor to become law.
