UPDATE: Alzheimer’s Patient Found in Fairhope

Missing 91-year-old Leonard Otterberg was last seen around 11 a.m. Christmas Day.

UPDATE (11:30 a.m.) – 91-year-old Leonard Otterberg was found this morning around 8 a.m. near the Rock Creek subdivision. According to witnesses on scene, he was in good spirits and was not injured.

ALEA has cancelled their missing senior alert.

ORIGINAL STORY – The search continues for a missing Alzheimer’s patient in Fairhope.

Crews from Daphne Police, Fairhope Police and Volunteer Fire, Escambia County Search and Rescue, North Baldwin Search and Rescue and Klass Kids are actively looking for 91-year-old Leonard Otterberg. He was last seen near his relatives’ Rock Creek home around 11 am Christmas Day. He was near the 9th or 10th hole of the Rock Creek Golf Course.

He was last seen wearing a black zip-up jacket, grey slacks and white tennis shoes. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds with salt and pepper hair.

The trained professionals continuing the search tonight want to thank the volunteers who came out to search during the day. They are not looking for any more volunteers tonight, but there is another way you can help out.

If any Baldwin County residents happen to see him as you drive through the area tonight please call 911 or Chaplain Dickey at 251-654-8803. Authorities believe Ottenberg may be trying to make his way to Millry, AL where his critically ill older brother is hospitalized.
