Dressed in an orange jail jumpsuit, Stephen Nodine appeared in a video monitor for a bond hearing in a Fairhope courtroom Monday morning.
He’s charged with two violations of probation stemming from a guilty plea for harassment and perjury charges in the shooting death of his mistress Angel Downs five years ago.
According to authorities, Nodine failed a monthly drug test in November. He tested positive for opiates and marijuana. His attorney Pascal Bruijn says Nodine took a friends medication while battling the flu and ate brownies laced with marijuana.
He is also accused of violating the conditions of an approved out-of-state visit to New Orleans.
He could face as much as six months in prison if a judge revokes his probation.
A probation revocation hearing is scheduled January 13th before Judge Joseph Norton.
