Guilty Verdict In Birdshot Shooting Assault Trial

Mike Moss
Mike Moss was found guilty of second degree assault.

BAY MINETTE, AL- After deliberating for more than 6 hours, a Baldwin County jury found Mike Moss guilty of second degree assault.

Moss shot a trespassing teen with birdshot  in his backyard in May 2014. Then 19-year old Christian Valenti was running from police after officers busted an open house party. Valenti was looking for a place to hide when the confrontation happened.

The guilty verdict indicates the jury did not believe self-defense or a “stand your ground” defense applied in this case.

Moss could spend up to 10 ten years in prison. Moss will be sentenced next month.
