Fresh off their second SEC championship win, tide fans are optimistic their team will win another national championship and the first under the new playoff system.
“It seems like a pretty sure thing at this point, “said fan Payton Troup. Alabama did lose to Ohio State last year in the first round of the playoff. A lot of fans say this year, things are different.
“I think we respect the playoff system more I think we thought we were going to go in and beat Ohio State handily and we didn’t,” said Cole Mattox. Cole was wearing a very loud Alabama Christmas sweater walking down the street; it’s a source of pride. Other fans are optimistic.
“This year I think they’ve got a little more focus and, of course, they’ve got the iron man in the backfield,” said Jerry Arnold. It’s also a different team with new stars too.
“God you’ve got henry, he’s a beast Coker’s really stepped it up, that and they have a great head coach too,” said Chris Miller. Their defense is a lot better this year than it was last year, run the ball consistently and be a hard team to beat. Alabama still has to make it past the Spartans in this bracket before advancing. Michigan State may be a tough opponent; it’s also a tougher sell for travelers with more demand for trips to Arizona than the Cotton Bowl.
