Gun Bans Won’t Stop Acts Of Violence

We talked to local gun dealers about President Obama's new push for gun control.

LOXLEY, AL- President Obama stopped just short of calling for a ban on assault weapons in his Oval Office address Sunday, but in response to the California mass shooting, the president urged Congress to pass gun control legislation.

The president focused on restricting high-powered, semi-automatic weapons in his speech.

Local gun experts say banning or restricting sem-automatic rifles won’t stop acts of violence by anyone, including suspected terrorists like the California attackers who were in the U.S. legally and legally bought the guns.

Many police officers also disagree with a ban on semi-automatic weapons.
