Baker High School Teacher Accused of Showing Student Porn

53-year-old Kevin Fagan a teacher at Baker High School was arrested last Friday on campus for allegedly showing pornographic images to a student. On the school’s website, he is listed as the speech and reading teacher.

“We asked her how did he show it to her, she said advised us it was on a cellular device in which time we made contact with the arrested person,” said Officer Terence Perkins, Mobile Police Department.

Investigators told us a 15-year-old student says Fagan showed her photos of nude women.  She reported what happened to the school resource officer. When police arrived, Fagan cooperated with police and handed over his phone.

“And we were able to find information that she shared with us that would be on the phone,” said Perkins.

He was later arrested and charged with distributing pornography to a minor. He’s since been released and is out on bond. We went to Fagan’s home to see if he would share his side of the story, but no one answered. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.

“We applaud the victim for coming forth and actually cooperating and helping us this investigation. Because a lot of things happen and it goes unreported. So we definitely encourage victims to report this kind of behavior to the proper authority.”

Fagan is now on paid administrative leave, as per state law. If he’s convicted he would not have to register as a sex offender but, a judge could still order it under further review.  We reached out the Mobile County Public Schools System for comment, but it would only release a statement as follows:

“Our policy is not to comment on personnel matters. All we can say is that Kevin Fagan has been placed on administrative leave. We are cooperating with the Mobile Police Department on its investigation and are referring all media questions regarding the case to MPD.”
