About 2,000 people showed up to rally for presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson Thursday.
Carson spent a day in Mobile campaigning and then holding a fundraiser afterward.
He spoke to the crowd at the Mitchel Center on the University of South Alabama campus.
“So wonderful to be here with you. I always enjoy coming to Alabama and hearing from people with common sense,” said Carson. “There are many things that threaten to destroy this nation and most people don’t want to talk about those.”
Supporters who came out say they like Carson, because he is not a politician.
“I love Dr. Carson everything about him, who he was before he started to run and who he is now. He’s just amazing,” said Christa Rich a student at South Alabama.
