Ohio Governor and Presidential hopeful John Kasich made the trip personally to Alabama Tuesday to officially qualify to be on the state Republican Primary ballot.
Kasich was greeted by Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson at a campaign stop in downtown Mobile.
Bentley was among the first to publically endorse Kasich for President.
“I think it is his qualifications,” said Governor Bentley “If someone goes in as the President or Governor and has no experience what so ever, it takes a while. It takes a year or two and we don’t have a year or two in this country.”
Kasich is the sixth Republican candidate to qualify in Alabama. The deadline for the State primary is Friday.
