Restaurant owner and former NFL Star Bob Baumhower said in a text message that the fire wasn’t terrible.
“Damage is not too bad. Won’t slow us down. I’m going to have to put something smoked on the menu!!”
Firefighters were called to a high-rise fire in downtown Mobile this morning. Fire broke out on the 34th floor of the RSA Trustmark building just before 3:00 this morning. That’s where a new restaurant is being built. Fire officials say it was an electrical fire in the ceiling and it has been put out, but firefighters had to break some windows to ventilate for smoke. The restaurant, called Dauphin’s, is the latest restaurant being built by Bob Baumhower. It is replacing the former Bienville Club at the top of the Trustmark building.
