MOBILE- Earlier this month on October 10, Mobile Baykeeper hosted a hugely successful Apple Snail Roundup. Over 90 volunteers collected 128 snails and 417 egg clusters, all while picking up 20 bags of trash.

Thanks to the University of South Alabama, canoes and kayaks were available to volunteers allowing them to collect the invasive species and trash by water. It was a sight to see the flotilla patrolling the lake, in addition to people patrolling the shoreline.  Mobile Baykeeper expects to hold the next roundup in early Spring 2016.
