PUMP PRICE PATROL: Gas Falling Lower In Mobile Area

cheap gas3People in the Mobile area, and in Alabama have more money to spend thanks to lower gasoline prices. Prices at the pumps are at least one dollar lower than in October 2014.

According to the tracking site, GasBuddy.com, prices in the Mobile area are now under $1.80 a gallon. WKRG News 5 found an Exxon station near the intersection of Cottage Hill Road and Dawes Road selling gasoline at $1.75 a gallon.

Back in January, prices dipped around $1.78 in Mobile, but we are now approaching the lowest gasoline prices seen since April 2009. The lower gas prices are linked with the price of crude oil. Benchmark U.S. crude fell below $46 a barrel on Tuesday.
For all the “Back to the Future” fans, gasoline prices in 1989 hovered around $1.15 a gallon, and then dropped back under the one dollar mark in the 1990s.
