GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – Gulfport Police have arrested a man sought in the rape of a 78-year-old woman in her home.
Deputy Chief Chris Loposser tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1NSVDlt ) 44-year-old Deltber Keyes was arrested Tuesday on charges of kidnapping, rape and robbery.
Loposser says police received numerous tips that led to Keyes’ arrest. He was taken to the Harrison County jail and is being held on $1 million bond set by Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.
Police responded at midnight Sunday to a report of a rape at a residence on 25th Street. Sgt. Damon McDaniel says the victim went into her yard after hearing suspicious noises, and was forced back inside and raped. He says the man also took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.
