BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – Authorities have discovered a body inside a car that was found in a pond on a golf course near Birmingham.
The Jefferson County sheriff’s department says officers found a man’s body in the submerged car on Friday.
Officials haven’t released the name of the person. But they say an initial investigation shows that an elderly man driving near the course lost control of the vehicle and wound up in the water.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were called to the course after workers found the vehicle in the pond.
Course employees noticed a damaged fence at the course on Thursday night but didn’t see the car until Friday.
