TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — The Alabama Crimson Tide had arguably their best game of the season against Georgia last Saturday, and that isn’t lost on the players as they prepare for Arkansas.
“We really thought we played the most complete game: offense, defense, special teams,” Ryan Kelly said. “We just played the entire game, the complete game that we could play. We kind of saw how good this team could be and that was a really exciting moment for us.”
“We feel like we can do that almost week in and week out and it was just good for us to actually put four quarters together and execute throughout the game,” Jonathan Allen said.
The question for Alabama is can they perform like they did against Georgia week after week. Head coach Nick Saban mentioned the need for consistency in his press conference, and they players know they have to do their part.
“Coach is always talking about preparation from Monday to Thursday,” Derrick Henry said. “You just got to prepare right throughout the week just so you’re consistent so you can practice how you want to play and I feel like that’s the key.”
Preparations ahead of Georgia that contributed to the team’s play consisted of a focused mindset, execution in practice, and paying attention in meetings, according to Allen.
” We just have to continue to do that,” Allen said. “The leaders of the team have to come together, we have to talk to them, have to let them know that we’re not going to tolerate anything less. We have a standard that we gotta uphold and keep up and I feel like we did a good job of showing that and now we just got to do it week in and week out.”
“It’s just all about everybody coming together and everybody just executing the plan like coach Saban says,” Shaun Dion Hamilton said. “I feel like if we play assignment football, we could be a very good team.”
