FAIRHOPE, AL- Some high school students in Baldwin County say they’re not really interested in earning bachelors or masters degrees.
Many are pursuing technical and industrial careers and will make as much or even more than some college graduates.
The Academy at the Fairhope Airport is providing hands-on training for students who want to work in aviation, welding and industrial maintenance.
The kids will earn college credit through Faulkner State Community College and will land jobs at local companies like Airbus and UTC Aerospace.
The Academy is a partnership between the Fairhope Airport, Faulkner State Community College, Enterprise State Community College and the Baldwin County Board of Education.
