BAY MINETTE, AL-He’s not technically on the payroll yet, but Baldwin County school superintendent Eddie Tyler has already met with some employees and students.
Tyler officially starts his new job on Thursday, but we caught up with veteran educator Wednesday in Summerdale as a he made several, surprise visits.
Tyler will face plenty of obstacles including rebuilding trust between the school system and the community and getting voters to approve existing school taxes which were shot down in a special referendum.
Tyler will focus a lot of his attention meeting with employees and residents in local communities over the next several months.
Tyler will earn $160,000 a year. Tyler signed a standard, 33-month contract.
