. The teachers post lessons online, and have many live chat sessions with students. The benefit is, the students can go at their own pace. Many say they want to go at a faster pace…others a slower pace than a regular class. Last year, 300 students enrolled in the online academy. Principal Lynne Brown says the students have to be self-motivated to succeed in the program. “These are kids you don’t have to say, ‘get up and go to school.’ They enjoy learning and the environment of having flexibility of clicking on a computer, logging in and taking a lesson via the internet.”
