BAY MINETTE, AL- There’s no question the Baldwin County Board of Education has taken steps to improve communications, transparency and accountability in the months following the failed tax vote.
There still appears to be a disconnect between the board and the community, however, at least at recent budget hearings and superintendent interviews open to the public.
Fewer than 20 people have attended meetings this summer.
The school district is using digital and online technology to improve communications choices and options:
-All board meetings are now streamed live.
-Financial documents are posted online.
-An accountability tab has been added to main page on the district’s website.
-A smart phone app has been developed.
