It’s not often we let one topic take over our ‘Around the Web Around the World’ but we’ve got to make an exception for Friday night’s big event in Mobile. We touched on a number of moments from the speech—including that part where Trump took off his hat and talked about his hair. Melissa and I both admitted we hit reverse on our DVRs to watch that moment a second time.
Secondly we also touched on how Trump handled a protester who seemed to carry a sign supporting Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders. The protester was escorted out by police and the slight interruption didn’t seem to throw Trump off the stump.
A third standout moment was Trump’s “beautiful woman.” During the speech he makes reference to a woman who wanted a book signed during his speech. Trump gets someone to hand it up to him and he signs it during his speech while making a reference to a “beautiful woman” in the crowd. That woman is Amanda Mancini. She says she flew in on a whim from California. She was one of the first people in line Friday and had just purchased a copy of Trump’s 1986 book “The Art of the Deal” for him to sign. Mancini told me this morning she’s also the one consistently waiving the American flag in front of cameras during the rally.
