Women Busted for Shopping Spree on Elderly Relative’s Credit Card

Saraland Police have arrested two women for fraudulent use of an elderly relative’s credit card.

According to a press release, 43-year-old Whitney Gartman and 20-year-old Katy Wheeler are accused of using a credit/debit card to make more than $15,000 in fraudulent purchases.

Police say the credit card belonged to an elderly relative of both women, though they didn’t specify the exact relation.

Both women, from Saraland, are charged with Financial Exploitation of an Elderly Person and Fraudulent Use of a Credit/Debit Card. Wheeler’s primary charge is more serious, as it’s in the first degree.
