What’s For Breakfast? Creamy Ham and Cheese Quiche!

This morning, as with every morning, I advise you to check out the recipe on allrecipes.com for complete instructions.  There are some variations to this recipe I had to do, not by choice.  It calls for a half cup shredded Swiss cheese.  I could not find that at the supermarket I visited. It’s not like this is an exotic item like dodo bird eggs—but it’s not a common item.  I just substituted it with another ½ cup of cheddar cheese.  It lacks a certain taste texture but it’s still good.  The supermarket also lacked green onions.  I used red onions instead.

Bake the pie crust for five minutes at 400 degrees—poke holes in it and then bake for another 5 minutes.  Turn the oven down to 350 degrees.  The bottom layer should be cheese and flour.  The second layer is the cooked ham coated in mustard.  The next layer is an egg, half and half, salt, flour, onion mixture.  Top with remaining cheese.   Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
