After months of being shut down, ice cream giant, Blue Bell, will begin a trial run of its products that were linked to ten listeria illnesses in four states. The listeria laced products were also linked to three deaths in Kansas.
Testing will take place at Alabama’s Sylacauga plant. It is set to begin later this month.
The ice cream will not be sold to customers. State health officials, along with officials at Blue Bell, will test the products for listeria.
The contaminated products have been found at the company’s Texas and Oklahoma plants. So far, Alabama’s plant is in the clear.
