Back-To-School Sales Tax Holidays Coming Up

The start of the new school year is about a month away and so are the back-to-school sales tax holidays in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. Each state has its own list of tax-free items you’ll be able to buy, like clothing, computers and school supplies…

Mississippi’s tax holiday is only two days. You can shop July 31 and August 1st and not pay sales tax on certain items of clothing and shoes. You can get more information on the Mississippi Department of Revenue website.

Alabama’s sales tax holiday is from Friday, August 7 through the end of the day, Sunday, August 9. Clothing, shoes, school supplies and even some computers are tax-free. You can find a full list of participating cities and counties and a list of items included in the tax-free weekend by going to Alabama’s Department of Revenue website.

Florida’s sales tax holiday is ten days long, Friday, August 7 through the end of the day, Sunday, August 16. You’ll be able to save tax money on clothes, shoes, school supplies and computers and computer equipment. More information can be found on the Florida Department of Revenue website.
