Woman Shot in the Face While Stopped at Red Light

Police say a woman was shot in the face early Sunday morning while stopped at a red light in midtown Mobile.

According to Mobile Police, the woman was in her car at the intersection of Dauphin Street and Monterey Street when four black men approached her car on foot around 1:34am. One of the men brandished a weapon and shot the female driver in the face.

The victim, who is not being identified at this time but is described as a woman in her late twenties, was transported to a local hospital, where she’s in stable condition. She was able to speak to investigators and provide an assessment of what happened.

The four men are wanted on assault charges, though additional and/or upgraded charges are likely, pending the investigation’s due course.

Police are working on more detailed descriptions of the suspects, News 5 is told. Anyone with information is asked to call Mobile Police.
