RED BAY, Ala. (AP) – Police say a man visiting his wife in jail is facing charges after pills were found in a cheeseburger he was trying to bring into the building.

Red Bay Police Chief Jana Jackson told the TimesDaily of Florence Monday (http://bit.ly/1K6UaUW ) that 31-year-old Timothy Lee Thompson of Red Bay is charged with promoting prison contraband and could face additional charges.

Lt. Scotty Belue says oxycodone pills were found between two patties in a burger Thompson brought with him to the city jail.

Jackson says Thompson had recently been released from jail on charges of theft by deception.
