Better Surf Conditions at Baldwin County Beaches

Yellow flags are flying over Baldwin County beaches on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

Beach Visitors in Baldwin County are experiencing better surf conditions. After nearly one week of dangerous rip currents, yellow flags are now flying in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Waves are much smaller, and currents are not as strong. Several people have been pulled from the choppy Gulf over the laGulf Shores beachst few days. Rsurf 1ip currentssurf 2 can still be present in yellow flag conditions. The U.S. National Weather Service tweeted a YouTube video showing how a rip current pulls water from the shore and creates a dangerous channel. A group in Australia used purple dye to make the video.
