ORANGE BEACH, AL.- On Friday, production crews will begin filming an important scene from the movie USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage.
The movie, starring Nicholas Cage, is based on the Navy’s worst, at-sea disaster.
Two miles south of Perdido Pass, crews will re-creat parts of the 1945 sinking of the ship by Japanese torpedoes and the terrifying shark attacks surviving sailors fought against before they were rescued.
Another scene involving a plane crash will be shot on Wolf Bay.
Crews will be filming in and around Orange Beach for about two weeks. USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage will open in theaters Memorial Day Weekend 2016.
